It’s tough being different in todays world.
It’s like the whole world wants you to act a certain way, stay silent about certain things and look & be like everyone else. I hate it.
Where’s the fun in that?
They say growing up in “the hood” is one of the toughest things. I disagree. I think growing up in “the hood” or anywhere else in the world and being different is the toughest thing in the world.
You could lose your life for being different from everyone else. That’s how scary it is.
Imagine walking into a prison a nice guy with glasses. Though I doubt you’d be in prison, do you think they will take kind of you? I don’t think so.
Death, unfortunately, is going to reveal just how “tough” people are when they come face-to-face with their Maker. That is by no means a diss, but more an eye opener. As I said, I want everyone on this earth to come to Christ.
But we live in a world where Christ is unpopular or unknown and money is everything.
So how do we change that?
By being different. By standing up and being different from the rest even if it costs our lives.
Like Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandi, Malcolm X, Jesus Christ and so many more.
That’s why Jesus is so needed for everyone. Because when you go against this world you are going to encounter tremendous push back. Maybe even from family and close friends. People you thought had your back.
You may lose relationships, get fired from your job and feel like the whole world is collapsing on you. Even with a relationship with Christ. But you have to stay strong at all costs.
God got you.
Sometimes I get mad sitting in this house cleaning up all the mess of my past. A mess that wouldn’t be here had I just been different from the start and hadn’t conformed to be like everyone else. But if I can change my life and redirect someone else’s it’s worth it.
Plus heaven is my home – not earth.
